Xpress Restore eliminates the need for traditional backup windows by continuously capturing the changes in data at the block level, with extremely low overhead on the systems it protects. Its flexible policy engine allows administrators to make the best use of IT resources while improving recovery service levels to meet tough data protection and retention requirements on a per-application basis. And Xpress Restore provides a unique instant restore capability that gets your applications and users back up and running within minutes following any data loss while full data recovery is performed in the background.
Xpress Restore can fully replace the use of tape in small and remote offices where there is a shortage of skilled IT personnel. Or integrate it with your existing tape backup applications and systems to provide an intermediary disk-based layer (D2D2T) for much faster backup and recovery capabilities while eliminating the need to shut down applications to run the backup job.

System Configurations
Xpress Restore is licensed on the basis of the application servers that it protects:
- Xpress Restore CDP 32-bit Edition: full functionality, including true CDP (Continuous Data Protection) for 32-bit Windows servers
- Xpress Restore CDP 64-bit Edition: full functionality, including true CDP (Continuous Data Protection) for 64-bit Windows servers
- Xpress Branch Server: limited to 1 snapshot per day; a very cost-effective and reliable replacement for once-a-day tape backup processes
Optional Components
- Xpress Restore DR: efficient, selective replication of critical data to a distant location for instant recovery and access following any type of disaster.
- Xpress Restore BMR: restore an entire server, even to dissimilar hardware, and provide full access to data application within an hour; also an excellent tool for doing server migrations, including physical-to-virtual, virtual-to-virtual, virtual-to-physical and physical-to-physical.
- Xchange Restore 2007: instantly recover granular e-mail data objects from a backup Exchange Database (EDB) or even from a corrupted EDB.
